Sporting Clube de Portugal secured the Liga Portugal title once again this Saturday, following a 2-0 victory over Vitória SC at the Estádio José Alvalade in the 34th and final round of the season. With this triumph, Sporting achieves back-to-back championships, a feat the club has not celebrated in 71 years, since the 1952/1953–1953/1954 seasons.

This title is a deserved recognition of Sporting’s outstanding performance throughout the season. The Lions led the league for 30 out of 34 rounds, finishing the campaign with an impressive 82 points, the result of 25 wins, seven draws, and only two losses. Sporting also distinguished themselves statistically, boasting the highest number of goals scored (88) and the fewest conceded (27), demonstrating both offensive brilliance and defensive solidity.

Viktor Gyökeres was the standout player of the 2024/2025 Liga Portugal season, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 39 goals.
